7 children & teenagers were rescued from occupation last week
Last week, the Save Ukraine team rescued seven Ukrainian children and teenagers from Russian occupation. This mission was made possible thanks to the support of Wladimir Klitschko, Tatjana Tiel from WeAreAllUkrainians, Humanity Foundation, and the Joint Coordination Center for Search and Release. These children endured threats, pressure, and forced indoctrination, but today, they are safe.
Among those rescued:
🔹 17-year-old Maksym, who, despite a congenital hearing impairment, continued to secretly study online at a Ukrainian school throughout the occupation. Because of the family’s pro-Ukrainian stance, their home was repeatedly searched by occupying forces.
🔹 23-year-old Artem and 19-year-old Danylo, whose family was subjected to constant intimidation, while the FSB attempted to recruit them. The harassment began because Artem had served in Ukraine’s Territorial Defense Forces before the occupation of their hometown. Their home was regularly raided, and their mother was threatened with deportation.
🔹 18-year-old Bohdan, who was taken directly from vocational school classes and forced to undergo a psychiatric commission before being registered for conscription into the Russian army. When he later received a draft notice, he made the immediate decision to escape.
🔹 17-year-old Dmytro, who was “evacuated” from his hometown with his family under the guise of a rescue operation. In reality, he and several other children were transported to a tent camp in Belgorod, then to a dormitory in the Oryol region. Fake documents were later issued in his name.
All rescued children are currently staying at Save Ukraine’s Hope and Healing Centers, where they receive psychological support, assistance with documentation, safe housing, and care—everything they need to restore a sense of security and begin dreaming again.
Thanks to Save Ukraine, more than 1,000 children have already been brought back from occupation. Yet thousands more are still waiting for their path home.
