4-day training program "Therapy based on trusting relationships"
Today, a 4-day training program “Therapy based on trusting relationships” has started in our Kyiv center with the support of our Estonian partners MTÜ Igale Lapsele Pere (NGO “Family for every child”).
The training is aimed at professionals who work with children who have experienced stressful situations or traumatic events related to both war and family circumstances: loss of parents, abuse, violence, neglect, experience of living in boarding schools, etc. Although the TBRI Principles are appropriate for use with children who have not had a traumatic experience. The training program was developed by Dr. Karin Purvis and David Cross at the Child Development Institute of Texas Christian University (Dallas, Texas, USA).
Training in this program is a great opportunity for our daycare workers to improve their skills and methods of working with families and children who have experienced the horrors of war. To help them overcome stress, trauma and return to a normal life. In addition to Save Ukraine specialists, over 100 listeners gathered at the event, including representatives of children’s services, social service centers of Kyiv and the region, educators, volunteers, and psychologists.
We thank trainers Jane Snaith and Ljubov Doroshenko, who agreed to travel a long way from Estonia to Ukraine to share their knowledge and experience with Ukrainian specialists.
