15 kids & teenagers rescued from occupation last week
15 children and teenagers were rescued from occupation by the Save Ukraine team last week. This became possible thanks to the support of partners within the framework of the President of Ukraine’s initiative Bring Kids Back UA. All of them had been living under pressure, fear, and constant threats to their lives — but now they are finally safe.
Among those rescued:
🔹 14-year-old Alina, who secretly continued her education in a Ukrainian school while explosions were heard near her home. She was denied medical treatment and rehabilitation because her family refused to obtain russian documents.
🔹 18-year-old Ivan, who constantly hid his pro-Ukrainian views. At college, he was forced to listen to propaganda, and during classes, a russian officer taught students how to disassemble firearms. When young men started being called up for military registration, Ivan left to avoid fighting against his own country.
🔹 18-year-old Demian, who was threatened and forced to register for military conscription. His hometown was overrun by armed chechen fighters who openly abused local residents. Right before Demian’s eyes, russian soldiers stormed into his classroom and tied up one of his classmates.
🔹 17-year-old Yevheniia, whose home was searched by armed soldiers at least ten times. She was forced to attend an occupation-run school, where children were forcibly enrolled as “cadets,” dressed in military uniforms, and told every day that war is normal.
These and 11 other children we rescued last week have already been given a chance at a new life. They are now staying at our Hope and Healing Centers, where a team of specialists is helping them restore their documents, overcome the trauma they have endured, and simply return to a normal life.
But thousands of children remain trapped, where they are forced to forget their roots and are openly being prepared for war. But we will not stop.
We are grateful to our partners Wladimir Klitschko, Tatjana Kiel, WeAreAllUkrainians, The Humanity Funds, and the Joint Center for Coordination of Search and Release — together, we are bringing Ukrainian children back home.
Thanks to Save Ukraine, more than 1,300 children are already home.
